Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, debut at the Auto Show Paris

Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid

The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, with four-wheel drive and an autonomy 100% electric of 31 miles (50 kilometers), will have its debut at the Auto Show of Paris at the end of the month. The full power of this new version of the Porsche Panamera is 462 horsepower and reaches a performance of gasoline fuel is up to 113 miles-per-gallon (2.5 l/100 km, according to the cycle, european homologated, NEDC for hybrid models enchufabas). In this case, the term "hybrid" is not only synonymous with a train engine, "green", but also sporty performance, with some of the characteristics of competitive models such as the Porsche 919 Hybrid, which won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2015 and 2016. The new Porsche plug-in hybrid always starts in mode-pure electric and can travel up to 31 miles and reach speeds of 80 miles per hour without generating polluting emissions. In addition, it is a sport of truth as with the train engine, combined, reaches a top speed of 173 mph (278 km/h), with the remarkable torque of electric cars, now on all four wheels. With this combination, and the pneumatic suspension of series, with three air chambers, guarantees an optimal balance between comfort and dynamism in any circumstance and can accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds.

Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid, with strategy Porsche 918 Spyder

The extraordinary performance are not by chance. The new Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid uses a hybrid strategy that has not been seen before in this segment; a strategy based on the 918 Spyder, with 887 horsepower and is the standard vehicle that has the fastest lap at the legendary circuit of Nürburgring Nordschleife with only 6:57 minutes, thanks in part, to the additional power provided by the two electric motors. And, as the 918 Spyder, the power of the electric motor in the Panamera (136 horsepower) are available as soon as the driver steps on the accelerator pedal. In the previous model is needed to press this pedal until at least 80% of its travel to release the additional power of the electric motor. Now, however, the gasoline engine and the electric interact in perfect harmony from the first moment. As in the Porsche 918 Spyder, the electric motor is always available to provide extra power. This, along with the performance characteristics of the new thruster with twin-turbo V6 2.9-liter (330 horsepower), generates a pulse impressive based on the electric motor and the turbocharger. In the Panamera 4 E-Hybrid the electrical energy is also used to increase the maximum speed, in driving mode “E-Performance” (more power, more driving enjoyment, less fuel consumption), which it interprets as the kit benefits of the future. In contrast with the system electro-hydraulic in the previous model, the uncoupler of the new Panamera is actuated so electromécánica by means of an actuator, clutch electric (ECA, for its acronym in English), which achieves a response time even shorter. As in the other versions of this second generation of the Panamera uses a new transmission PDK double-clutch and eight-speed, extremely fast and efficient in the changes of motion, to transmit power to all four wheels. This gearbox replaces the eight-speed automatic with torque converter that was used in the predecessor model.
