Tragic week for the motorcycle; goodbye to Luis Salom, and three other riders in the TT

Luis Salom

This has been without doubt one of the weekends more hard for the amateur to the motorcycle. Not yet, we believe, but the reality tells us that we have to lay off, not forgetting, of one of the biggest smiles in the paddock. As you know, Luis Salom could not overcome the injuries he suffered during free practice of this fateful Grand Prix of Catalunya. Luis is going, but you can be sure that the lovers of motorcycling will keep a huge hole: style, sympathy, and talent will make it impossible to forget. Unfortunately, it has not been the only driver to leave us these days: Paul Shoesmith, Dwight Beare and Dean Martin, have died in various accidents during the celebration of the Tourist Trophy of the Isle of Man.

That said. The show has continued at the circuit de Barcelona-Montmeló. There, Valentino Rossi has taken the revenge by getting a well-deserved victory after overcoming hand-in-hand to Marc Marquez, second ahead of Dani Pedrosa. Jorge Lorenzo was not able to if you want to score after that Andrea Iannone, another huge mistake, you go past a bend, and it will take you ahead. For his part, Johann Zarco led the Moto2 race, while Jorge Navarro has done the same in Moto3.

The epic race of the Isle of Man also leaves some of the most spectacular images that can be viewed on two wheels. Several are already videos of the cameras on-board of the main drivers flooding Youtube. For shows, we leave you with the training of Michael Dunlop and John MacGuinness. As it says in the companion of Jesus, as hypnotic as terrifying.

And from the outside, as you can imagine, the views are no less impressive. Under these lines you will find the first videos that have come from the Island on the participation of the Honda RCV213V-S in the race with Bruce Anstey to their controls.

And finally to close this weekend a little bit of technology. Although the hybrid car is already a reality seated in our roads, clean energy don't end of getting to the bikes. In that sense, the military industry has been developing some off-road motorcycles of a mechanical hybrid (electric + whatever) of the most interesting.
